Special Events at Our Airport
Adopt an Airport Program
Each year around 120 sixth grade students tour our airport. They are given an introduction to the history of the airport, Cloud 9 Aerosports, Inc.(our flight school), Caruso Aircraft Service (Rebuilds Vintage Aircraft), Elk Flyers (the local GA Flying Club), and a variety of other aviation interests. At the end of the school year we hold a drawing where four students are selected to receive a free flight lesson in a trike and a fixed wing aircraft. Flights are donated by Cloud 9 Aerosports, Inc. and Elk Flyers. It is a great opportunity for these young minds. These are photos of past winners. Hopefully other airports will pick up this program or something similar. Lets get our kids involved.
